Help a girl get the PRIDE she deserves - her period is her pride.

We will be your voice and feet where you are not able to go!

Globally, periods are causing girls to be absent from school. In Sub-Saharan Africa, one in ten girls miss school during their menstrual cycle. This equals as much as twenty percent of a given school year.

Meanwhile, women in rural areas cannot afford sanitary products which limits their social life, causes them to temporarily stop working, and prohibits them from social gathering. The lack of affordable sanitary pads among young women and girls in particular lead to much higher school absence and drop-out rates that in turn lead to further economic hardship and disempowerment.

RECFAM produces organic and biodegradable sanitary pads – AFRIPRIDE Pad – out of banana and plantain fibre for rural schoolgirls and women who lack access to proper menstrual hygiene products.

AfriPride Sanitary pad is improving the development of the communities in Ghana through solving a fundamental problem and contributing to gender inequality.

This is a transcendent philosophy that empowers women at every step in the process through job creation, leadership training, education and social entrepreneurship.

In order to accomplish these goals, we need your support to purchase a commercial machine to improve production, so that we’re able to meet the demands.

Your donation will keep a girl child in school and presents a dynamic opportunity for female youth to build sustainable careers and livelihoods.
